Privacy — Your Baby’s Data Stays Yours
Everything you write down about your baby stays yours. Not because we promise to be careful with it, but because of where it is kept — and it isn’t kept with us.
The app
- No account needed to use it. Install Nooma and start logging — no sign-up, no password, no email. There is no database of ours with your family in it.
- It lives where your photos live. Everything is stored in your own Apple iCloud account and moves between your own devices through Apple — not through us. We never see it.
- No ads, no trackers. Nothing in the app follows you around or reports back to an advertiser. Nooma does keep a few anonymous counts of which features get used — it asks you first, and it never counts anything about your baby.
- Your questions are nobody’s training data. Names are removed on your phone before a question is sent, and what you ask is never used to train anyone’s AI. We don’t keep your questions or the answers — only anonymous daily counts that keep the feature fair for everyone.
- Sharing is the one sign-in. If you share a child with your partner, that uses Sign in with Apple — so there is still no password, and Apple gives us a relay address instead of your real email. Only the people you invite can see the child, and only you can remove them.
- You can take it with you. Downloading everything you have ever logged is one tap in Settings — free, always, no reason required.
- No photo of your child needed. Their profile uses an illustrated character instead, so there is no picture of your child’s face anywhere in the app.
This website
- No tracking cookies and no cross-site advertising trackers.
- Nothing on this site loads from anywhere else, so no other company learns you visited.
- If you join the waitlist, we use your email address only to tell you when Nooma launches, and nothing else.
One term we don’t use
You will see baby apps describe themselves as “HIPAA-compliant”. That rule covers doctors and insurers, not apps like this one, so claiming it would be borrowing a word because it sounds reassuring. We would rather tell you the true version: no account needed, nothing of yours sitting with us unless you choose to share with a partner, and nothing to sell.
This page describes our approach in plain language. The complete formal version is the Privacy Policy.
